The device was tested in the Head Specialized Design Office of engines of average capacities (c.Kharkov).

At research all necessary parameters were determined according to GOST 14846-81, including consumption of fuel and air, and also emissions of nitric oxides, carbon monoxides, hydrocarbons and opacity of the exhaust gases. For definition of emissions of harmful substances gas-analyzing equipment of continuous action have been used:

- Nitric oxides (NOx) - chemiluminescent gas analyzer 344 ÕË-01,

- carbon monoxide (CO) - infra-red not-disseminating analyzer 121 ÄÔ,

- Cumulative carbohydrates (CH) - hydrogen-flame ionization detector 334 ÊÏÈ03.

Opacity of the exhaust gases was determined by opacimeter "Hartridzh -ÌÊ-3Ì".

Research was carried out by way of consecutive taking of adjusting characteristics on adjusting corner of fuel injection advance at rotation frequencies of the diesel engine crankshaft n=1500 and 200 min - 1 and loading characteristics at n=1000, 1500 and 2000 min- 1 at the certain optimum corners under the specific fuel consumption at n=1500 min- 1 without the Modifier and with the Modifier. The range of loadings change under loading characteristics made from idling up to Ne max.


The modifier was installed in the system of fuel delivery after the filter of fine fuel clearing on the input of the fuel pump of a high pressure.

Researches were carried out on diesel fuel in accordance with GOST 305-82.

As a result of research the following conclusions were made:

1. Character of change of adjusting corner of injection advance at frequencies of rotation of a crankshaft of diesel engine n=2000 min- 1 and n=1500 min- 1 has more flat characteristic in comparison with the initial variant, and sizes of optimum corners are displaced accordingly for 1,5 and 2 degrees.

2. The hourly and specific fuel consumption on high-speed operating modes of the diesel engine n=1500 min- 1 and n=2000 min - 1 have decreased accordingly to 13,5 and 13,2 %, and at frequency of rotation of the crankshaft of the diesel engine n=1000 min- 1 - to 17,55 %, achieving the maximal value in the range of average loadings.

3. At rotation frequency of crankshaft of the diesel engine of the investigated loading and high-speed modes opacity has reduced on the average for 20,7 %, and in a mode of free acceleration – for 22 %.

4. Emission of nitric oxides with the exhaust gases of the diesel engine in comparison with the initial variant has reduced for 10,8-16,3 % in all the range of the investigated loading-speed characteristics.

5. Emission of carbon monoxide in all the range of the investigated loading-speed modes has decreased for 13,74 - 20,14 % in comparison with the initial variant.

6. Emission of hydrocarbons with the exhaust gases of the diesel engine in all the range of the investigated loading-speed modes has decreased on the average for 5,6 %.


Conclusion.

As a result of researches the conclusion was made, that use of the Modifier leads to reduction of the delay period of spontaneous ignition, reduces rigidity of work of the diesel engine, increases motor-resource of the engine, reduces toxicity of the exhaust gases. Application of the Modifier allows considerably improving parameters of the hourly and specific fuel consumption resulting in increase of the technical-economic and operational characteristics of the diesel engine. Also application of the Modifier allows considerably lowing the opacity and emissions of carbon monoxides, nitric oxides and hydrocarbons in all the range of the loading -speed modes resulting in improvement of ecological parameters of the diesel engine. The received parameters and results testify the high reliability and efficiency of the Modifier that allows recommending it for application in any automobile engines.
